The ERLANG EQCON decoder device driver is a class of device driver that performs processing of encoded ADPCM (DSSI, DECT, MSK and CELP) audio data and SEG-D audio data streams in a telecommunications equipment (TE).
The audio sample rate is fixed at 8000 Hz and 16 bits (2 bytes) per sample. The data is encoded in the frame header. There are three fixed bit lengths. The header defines the bit length, number of bits per frame, sample frequency, audio/voice data length and encoding method. The time-efficient 16-bit ADPCM audio format, which can be implemented with 64 KHz sampling rate and 16 bits per sample, is employed.
The ERLANG EQCON decoder does not support the WAV format.
